Counselor in Training (CIT) Job Training Program
School Year CIT Program
This FREE program is designed to help entering high school students and current high schools prepare for the work force. Students will have a weekly seminar learning more about:
- Portfolio Development
- Work Readiness
- Job Searching
- Financial Literacy
- Hands-on Experience
Students will be able to get hands-on experience during the after school hours working side-by-side with counselors and classroom staff here at the center.
Summer CIT Program
In March, students will get to apply and interview for a position as a Summer CIT. 30 students will be given a chance to take part in this program, which is an 8 week summer commitment working with Head-Counselors, Admin, Maintenance, Lifeguards, and Teachers during our Summer Day Camp. Students will take part in staff meetings and everyday activities. After completing their 2nd Summer CIT Program, students will receive a stipend.
*Every Wednesday, from 3pm-4pm, CIT students are expected to join an in-class training session. For more information please call Jazmin at 203-336-4468 x101
