The 24th Lisa D'Addario Golf Classic was held on July 7, 2008 at Oak Lane Country Club. The event turned out to be an amazing success raising just over $125,000 to support the Summer Day Camp Program!
This golf tournament began in 1985 and is the Center's largest fundraiser each year. The Classic is held on the second or third Monday in May either at Race Brook Country Club in Orange, CT or at Oak Lane Country Club in Woodbridge, CT. Proceeds from this event benefit the Center's Summer Day Camp Scholarship Fund, which allows local families who are unable to afford our modest camp fee, to enroll their children in our camp program. One hundred and thirty six golfers participate in this event, enjoying a day filled with great prizes and excitement. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by a delicious breakfast. The two best ball tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. and play ends at 4:00 p.m. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are then served followed by dinner, a live auction, an awards ceremony, and much more.
Hole sponsors are available for $400, and this includes a half page ad in the program book, plus the option to provide promotional material in the goodie bags that are given to each golfer. Special location sponsors are available from $1,500 to $2,500. This sponsorship level includes not only what the hole sponsors receive but also will have their company signs prominently displayed near the clubhouse and 1 or 2 players in the tournament (depending on the level of sponsorship). Major sponsors are available for $5,000. A major sponsor is able to enter a foursome in the Classic, receives a full-page ad in our program book, a banner prominently displayed at the event, and the option to add something to the goodie bag.
The 2009 Lisa D'Addario Shehan Golf Classic will be held on Monday, May 11th at Race Brook Country Club in Orange. Email Bridget Lawrence with any questions for next year's event.
